According to reports from Mirror Football, Liverpool youngster Jerome Sinclair has emerged as a shock transfer target for Manchester City.

The striker became the youngest debutant in Liverpool history when first featuring against West Bromwich Albion as a 16-year-old back in 2012 and is rated as one of the Anfield outfit’s most promising youngsters.

But talks to extend his contract past the end of the season have stalled and to make matters worse, the 20-year-old has just switched agents to Aidy Ward – the controversial representative who facilitated Raheem Sterling’s move to Manchester City during the summer.

Mirror Football claim the Citizens could well be looking to take Sinclair off Liverpool’s hands as well after scouts were spotted at recent Reds U21 fixtures – whilst Dutch side Groningen and La Liga outfit Espanyol represent interest from abroad.

Should the youngster decide to leave Merseyside when his contract expires, Liverpool will be entitled to a compensation fee determined by a tribunal.
