Bojan

According to reports from SoccerWay and the Sky Sports Transfer Centre (see 15.05), Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has responded to reported interest in star forward Bojan from Premier League rivals Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United.

The former Barcelona star has proved a real coup since the Potters snapped him up for just €1.8million in summer 2014, going on to claim seven goals and one assist in 28 Premier League outings.

The 25-year-old has flourished in an attacking midfield trio alongside Marko Arnautovic and Xherdan Shaqiri this season, playing a prominent role in shock wins over Chelsea and Manchester City, and his recent form has not gone unnoticed by the Premier League’s top clubs.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United have all taken an interest in the £15million-rated Spaniard ahead of the January transfer window.

Speaking in today’s pre-match press conference ahead of Stoke’s Premier League clash with Crystal Palace on Saturday (kickoff at 3pm), the Britannia boss responded to recent speculation.

As quoted by SoccerWay and Sky Sports, Hughes told reporters; “We are a week or two before the bonkers season, the transfer window, so it isn’t surprising to see our players linked with other clubs. He [Bojan] is very happy here and a big part of why he is doing so well is because of the confidence that we all have in him.

“He has been to other big clubs before and has experienced it and maybe didn’t find what he has here. He is happy here, his people are happy too and we wouldn’t encourage any interest in him.”
