Matt Ritchie

According to reports from Mirror Football, Everton, West Brom and West Ham have joined Manchester United in the race to sign Bournemouth midfielder Matt Ritchie.

The 26-year-old Ritchie was the driving force behind the Cherries promotion bid last term, claiming 15 goals and 17 assists in 46 Championship appearances, and has continued to impress in the top flight this season.

He’s bagged two goals and three assists in 18 outings, helping Eddie Howe’s side claw themselves three points clear of the relegation zone, whilst averaging an impressive 1.2 created chances and 1.7 accurate crosses per match.

Manchester United were linked with the Scotland international, who has netted twice in seven outings for his country in 2015, back in November after Louis van Gaal revealed his desire to sign another winger during the January transfer window.

But Mirror Football claim Ritchie’s recent form has seen a host of other clubs join the race for his signature – namely Everton, West Ham and West Brom.

The Toffees are particularly keen but any deal in the coming transfer window still seems unlikely; Bournemouth are well aware selling their star player in January could have a huge impact on their survival hopes and the former Swindon Town midfielder’s contract doesn’t expire until 2018.
