According to reports from The Sun, Alexandre Pato has put Chelsea and Manchester United on red alert by revealing he wants a move to the Premier League.

The 26-year-old is perhaps best known for his prior spell with AC Milan, where he scored 51 goals in 117 Serie A appearances and was widely regarded as one of the most exciting young strikers in world football.

Injuries severely impacted Pato’s final 18 months at the San Siro but he’s revived his career since returning to Brazilian domestic football in 2013, producing 55 goals in 152 appearances across three injury-free seasons with parent club Corinthians and loan club Sao Paolo – including 26 goals for the 2015 campaign.

The Brazil international’s temporary spell with Sao Paolo expires in January and a host of Premier League clubs have been linked with his services, including Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

But The Sun put Chelsea and Manchester United in the frame to sign the 5 foot 11 frontman, following comments suggesting he’s already got one eye on a move to the English top flight.

As quoted by The Sun, Pato said; “Before I came to Italy to play for Milan in 2007, I saw in the papers that my name was mentioned in connection with some English clubs. I was told Chelsea were interested, but my dream was to play with Ronaldo.

“But one day I knew I would like to come to England because I think thePremier League is the number one in the world. It is very competitive. I like the emotion in the English league. You look at the TV and you see the stadium and the fans.

“My dream is to come back to Europe. I think it has to be to a club that plays to be champions — that challenges and has ambition.”
