According to reports from The Daily Star, Real Madrid are set to offer troubled striker Karim Benzema to Arsenal; whilst The Belfast Telegraph report that three Championship clubs are targeting Manchester United’s Paddy McNair.
Benzema was one of the north London outfit’s top targets during the summer transfer window, but he ruled out a Bernabeu departure in late August via social media.
The 27-year-old frontman now finds himself enthralled in an incredible blackmail scandal involving France team-mate Mathieu Valbuena, however, and could even receive jail time after being charged in November.
Citing Spanish publication El Confidential, The Daily Star claim Real Madrid are now looking to offload their furtive centre-forward in the hope long-term admirer Arsene Wenger will look to take him off their hands.
Meanwhile, The Belfast Telegraph report that Championship trio Blackburn Roves, Burnley and Wolves are hoping to sign Paddy McNair on loan during the January transfer window.
The Northern Ireland international has become a fleeting fixture in Manchester United’s first team squad under Louis van Gaal, making 21 appearances across all competitions since his debut at the start of last season.
The 20-year-old would certainly benefit from extra game-time, seen predominantly as a backup option in the Red Devils’ defence, but United’s ongoing injury crisis could see van Gaal block a temporary move to the English second tier.
