According to reports from The Metro, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed he tried to sign Sunderland midfielder Yann M’Vila; whilst Chelsea captain John Terry has hinted he could move to the MLS in an interview with The Daily Mail via ESPN

M’Vila has impressed since joining the Stadium of Light ranks on loan from Rubin Kazan during the summer, finding one goal and three assists in 13 appearances whilst averaging three tackles, 2.7 interceptions and 1.7 created chances per match – prior to this weekend’s round of Premier League fixtures.

And Gunners gaffer Arsene Wenger has revealed that he tried to sign the 25-year-old during his six-year stint with former club Rennes.

Ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League clash with the Black Cats, the Frenchman told Arsenal’s official website; “He was a very young, promising midfielder and we were interested in him. But the year we wanted to bring him in, they [Rennes] did not want to sell him. He had a few off-the-field problems but it looks like now he’s stabilised and he’s of course a very good player who is a regular player in the national team in France.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea captain John Terry has hinted he could move to the MLS once his Stamford Bridge career comes to an end, following the paths of former team-mates Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard.

In an interview with Liverpool legend and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher printed by The Daily Mail, the 34-year-old defender replied when asked if he’d join another team in England; “No. No chance. No chance. America, maybe. But physically I feel like I can still play.”

“Do I want to play? Of course I do,” he continued. “But then decisions come in to it with your family. What if you go somewhere and it doesn’t work out? Everything else comes into play, doesn’t it?”

The former England international’s Chelsea contract expires at the end of the season but most expect him to sign a new deal.
