According to reports from The Sun, Real Madrid will revive their interest in Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea at the end of the season.
The Spain international was tipped to join the Bernabeu for much of the summer transfer window as his Old Trafford contract entered it’s final twelve months, but a deal worth £29million and including Keylor Navas in exchange collapsed at the last minute as the required paperwork missed the La Liga deadline.
The Red Devils have since tied the 25-year-old down to a four-year contract, making him the best-paid goalkeeper in world football, but The Sun claim a £30million release clause included in the deal will see Real Madrid launch a second swoop for De Gea next summer.
They even describe the 6 foot 4 shot-stopper as Los Blancos’ No.1 target, in spite of the superlative form of their current No.1 Keylor Navas. Despite the Costa Rica international’s move to Old Trafford going awry, he’s been amongst Real Madrid’s top performers this season, recording 25 saves and a La-Liga-best six clean sheets in nine league appearances.
