According to reports from Le10Sport, PSG and Liverpool have joined Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Lille prodigy Sofiane Boufal.

The 22-year-old has been in superb form this season, claiming four goals in twelve Ligue 1 appearances whilst averaging 2.8 created chances, 1.8 accurate crosses and four dribbles per match – the latter statistic only bettered throughout the division by former Newcastle United man Hatem Ben Arfa, now with Nice.

A left-sided playmaker of considerable technical prowess causing waves at Stade Pierre-Mauroy, many have compared the Paris-born attacker to Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, who claimed twenty league goals during his final season with Lille before moving to Stamford Bridge at the cost of £32million in summer 2012.

The comparison may seem overzealous, but it has already generated interest from the Premier League. Tottenham Hotspur were reportedly weighing up a £12million bid during the summer and are expected to try again in the coming transfer window, after being linked with Boufal twice last month.

Le10Sport document the north London outfit’s interest again but reveal that it won’t be a one-horse race as previously expected. The arrival of Jurgen Klopp last month, taking the Anfield hot seat from Brendan Rodgers, has seen Liverpool express an interest in the prodigious attacker according to the French publication, who also moot PSG as potential suitors.

But whether any interested party can meet Lille’s demands remains to be seen. According to reports from last month, they’re happy to sell Boufal for £21.6million in January – but only if the playmaking winger is loaned back to the club for the rest of the season.
