According to reports from BBC Sport this morning, Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has denied leading a ‘players’ revolt’ against under-fire manager Jose Mourinho.

Renegade writer The Secret Footballer, an anonymous former professional who details his insider knowledge of the beautiful game in books and blogs, declared on his website yesterday evening that the Spain international is heading a ‘mini-revolt’ at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues suffered their sixth Premier League defeat of the season on Saturday, a 3-1 loss to Liverpool, and The Secret Footballer claims the players have become disillusioned with Mourinho’s cautious philosophy and his treatment of certain individuals since the start of the season – particularly captain John Terry and former club doctor Eva Carneiro.

But Fabregas, who claimed 18 assists as Chelsea lifted the Premier League title last season, has adamantly denied the claims via social media this morning – insisting he has an ‘excellent relationship’ with his manager.

He wrote on Twitter; “I would like to clarify that contrary to a few reports from some websites, I am extremely happy at Chelsea and have an excellent relationship with the manager. There may be certain individuals from the outside trying to destabilise this club but I strongly believe that we will bounce back and come good again.”

Chelsea are currently preparing for their Champions League clash with Dynamo Kiev tomorrow evening – a fixture which could decide Mourinho’s fate as Stamord Bridge boss.
