According to reports from SportBild, Arsenal are targeting three stars from the Bundesliga, whilst Liverpool are plotting a sensational move for Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski.

Via SportWitness, SportBild claim that the Premier League’s unprecedented financial firepower could see a number of the Bundesliga’s biggest talents jump ship to the English top flight within the next few transfer windows.

In a multi-page spread detailing potential Premier League targets, they claim Arsenal are particularly keen on Schalke skipper Benedikt Howedes, who lifted the World Cup with Germany in 2014, Bayer Leverkusen’s powerful winger Karim Bellarabi and Borussia Monchengladbach’s highly-rated midfielder Granit Xhaka – often compared to Bastian Schweinsteiger and Steven Gerrard.

Meanwhile, the German publication also allege, via Mirror Football, that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp wants to bring an old ally to Anfield. Former Borussia Dortmund frontman Robert Lewandowski – now of Bayern Munich.

Klopp and the Poland international won back-to-back Bundesliga titles and reached a Champions League final together at Dortmund before the latter made the controversial switch to Bayern on a free transfer in summer 2014.

The report comes after Lewandowski’s agent admitted to SportBild that there is Premier League interest in the 27-year-old. He said; “It would be wrong to say there is no interest [from the Premier League]. [But] all of us should respect that Robert has a contract at FC Bayern.”

Currently boasting the most league goals of any player in Europe’s five leading top flights this season, however, a whopping 14, the Bavarians are unlikely to sell anytime soon.
