According to reports from Foot Mercato, Arsenal and Manchester United are both targeting frustrated Chelsea youngster Charly Musonda.

The attacking midfielder is amongst the more noteworthy talents from the Blues academy ranks and had amassed an impressive 25 goals in 42 appearances across the youth levels for Belgium before the summer, earning comparisons with first team star Eden Hazard.

But father Charly Musonda senior, a former Zambia international, suggested in May that the 19-year-old could seek opportunities elsewhere after finding his path to the first team blocked – a symptomatic complaint from many of the west London outfit’s youngsters.

Arsenal, Manchester City and Monaco have all been linked with Musonda since the end of last season, with the Gunners believed to have seen a £8.5million bid knocked back in June.

But according to Foot Mercato, Manchester United have emerged as the ‘most interested’ party in the race to sign the prodigious teenager, with PSG also reportedly keen, and are now preparing a €15million bid.

The French publication adds; “every day that passes pushes Charly Musonda a little [further] away from Chelsea.”
