According to reports from The Daily Star, Liverpool face Juventus in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan; whilst The Daily Mail report that goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny will decide his future with Arsenal after next summer’s European Championships.

Liverpool have been linked with a number of Dortmund stars since Jurgen Klopp took the managerial reigns from Brendan Rodgers at the start of last month, most particularly defender Neven Subotic and striker Robert Lewandowski, now of Bayern Munich.

Gundogan is the latest to be listed as a Reds target, courtesy of The Star – who claim the Merseysiders are up against Juventus and potentially Barcelona in the race to sign the £18million-rated German international.

Meanwhile, The Daily Mail report that Arsenal’s Wojciech Szczesny will decide his future at the Emirates after Euro 2016. The Poland international joined Roma on loan in July following the arrival of Petr Cech and has established himself as Giallorossi’s No.1, making 13 starts in Serie A and the Champions League combined.

The 25-year-old told sports website przegladsportowy.pl; “My future will be decided after the European Championships. I love Arsenal, but I’m happy at Roma. I know that Roma want me, but I don’t see why Arsenal would not want me also. Leaving Arsenal was painful and it was a difficult decision to make. I can’t imagine myself with another English team.”
