According to reports from Mirror Football, Arsenal are leading the charge to sign Accrington Stanley youngster Josh Windass – son of Hull City legend Dean.
The 21-year-old has already made quite the impression in League Two, bagging 14 goals from midfield since his debut in 2013 – including a potent return of eight goals in 16 outings this season.
As aforementioned, he’s also the son of Hull City legend Dean Windass, who famously fired the Tigers to the Premier League in 2008 with a sensational volley in the Championship playoff final.
Second tier trio Brighton, Fulham and Hull City, along with League Two outfit Portsmouth, are all tracking the Accrington prodigy, but Mirror Football tip Arsenal as the front-runners in the race for his signature.
Gunners scouts reportedly watched Windass during a 3-2 win over York in the FA Cup on Saturday and are hoping to sign him for a meagre £1million, due to his contract expiring at the end of the season.
