According to reports from ESPN this morning, the agent of Manchester United target Felipe Anderson has released a statement denying he’s agreed to leave Lazio.

The 22 year-old was in strong form last season, recording ten goals and seven assists in 32 Serie A appearances, and has started the current campaign equally brightly. He’s bagged five goals already this season, including a superlative streak of four in just eight days.

The Red Devils saw a £29million bid rejected during the summer, despite allegedly agreeing personal terms with the one-cap Brazil international over a contract that would have seen him earn in excess of £60k per week.

Rumours of a departure from Stadio Olympico have resurfaced once again in recent weeks, the Italian media claiming he has a ‘gentleman’s agreement‘ in place to leave Lazio if he receives an offer from one of Europe’s elite clubs – with The Express putting the Red Devils in the frame.

But in an unexpected twist of events, Anderson’s representatives – a firm called Base Soccer – have released a statement denying such a scenario.

As quoted by ESPN, it reads; “Contrary to reports, Felipe Anderson has not agreed a deal to leave Lazio and join anyone else. Felipe is doing well at Lazio and is only focused on doing his best for them.
