Juve prodigy ‘more than happy’ to join Arsenal after £13m summer bid

Daniele Rugani

According to an exclusive from Sport Witness earlier this week, highly-rated Juventus prospect Daniele Rugani would be ‘more than happy’ to join summer suitors Arsenal.

The Serie A champions signed the 6 foot 2 centre-back in summer 2013 but allowed him to continue his development at boyhood club Empoli over the last two seasons as part of a co-ownership agreement.

Last term, he featured in every minute of the Stadio Carlo Castellani outfit’s league campaign to help them secure a 15th place finish in the top flight, averaging 1.3 tackles, 0.9 interceptions, 6.9 clearances and 2.8 aerial duels per match.

The 21 year-old has returned to Turin for the current campaign but is still waiting for his first appearance in any competition, leading an unnamed source to claim he would be happy to leave Juve for ‘Arsenal or other important English clubs’ following a failed summer bid from the Emirates outfit.

This Is Futbol revealed in July that the Gunners had seen a £13million bid rejected for Italy U21, who boasts 45 caps for his country across the junior levels and was called up to the senior squad last November, and Sports Witness have validated they claim.

They also quote their source as saying; “Of course, if Arsenal or other important English clubs want to buy him with the right offer, the player will be more than happy to move. He has the skill, physique and perfect attitude for the Premier League and will be very happy to play in the United Kingdom for top English teams.”

Juventus remain keen to hold onto Rugani, but a lack of playing time could convince the prodigious defender to force a move.
