Alexandre Pato

According to reports from The Metro earlier this week, Corinthians have revealed their asking price for star striker Alexandre Pato.

The 5 foot 9 front-man first broke onto the scene in 2007 as AC Milan’s free-scoring teenager, bagging 51 goals in 117 Serie A appearances for the Italian giants.

Yet all but one of those goals came in his first four seasons at the club, with recurring injuries severely impacting the Brazil international’s final 18 months at the San Siro.

The 26 year-old has gone someway to resurrecting his career during an 18 month loan spell with Sao Paulo, boasting 33 goals in 83 outings across all competitions, and during the final week of the summer transfer window was linked with a shock move to the Premier League.

According to The Metro, he’s still a potential target of Arsenal and Manchester United’s – so both clubs will certainly take an interest in recent quotes from Corinthians’ deputy director of football Eduardo Ferreira.

He told Brazilian publication Globo Esporte earlier this week; “At the moment there are only enquiries. But if a club comes in with an offer of €25m (18.5m), we will let him go, otherwise he will return in January.”
