According to reports from The Express this morning, Arsenal could launch a £10.5million bid for Botafogo prodigy Luis Henrique during the January transfer window.

The 6 foot striker may only be 17 years of age but he’s made an impressive start to his career at Engenhao, bagging four goals in 14 appearances – including a brace on his league debut earlier this season.

That impressive form has earned Henrique a call-up to Brazil’s U17 squad for the World Cup in Chile later this month and seemingly convinced agent Kia Joorabchian that the teenager is ready to ply his trade in Europe.

Indeed, according to The Express, who cite reports from Goal Brazil, Henrique’s representative is keen to find the young striker a new club in January- with Arsenal believed to be particularly interested.

The British tabloid moot Henrique as a potential solution to the Gunners’ limited depth up top. But any deal in the new year could require paying the youngster’s £10.5million release clause in full.
