According to reports from Mirror Football this morning, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed his admiration for Everton midfielder Ross Barkley.
The 21 year-old has enjoyed a fantastic start to the season as the Toffees’ resident No.10, claiming two goals and three assists in nine Premier League appearances. He’s also averaged an impressive 3.1 shots, 1.9 created chances and 2.7 successful dribbles per match.
Likewise, Barkley staked a claim for a more significant role within the England squad during the international break, assisting against Estonia and netting against Lithuania, as the Three Lions qualified for Euro 2016 with a perfect record.
Everton visit Arsenal in the Premier League’s 5.30pm kickoff tomorrow and Gunners gaffer Arsene Wenger expressed his admiration for Barkley during his pre-match press conference this morning.
As quoted by Mirror Football, Le Professeur said; “For me he is one of the most promising young players. He is a special talent. He has massive potential. He has absolute power and is certainly one of the most promising.”
Everton will be hoping to bounce back from a 3-0 defeat to Manchester United tomorrow, whilst Arsenal will enter the Emirates fixture on a high after beating Bayern Munich 2-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.
