According to reports from The Express this morning, Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has hinted that he could have left the club during the summer transfer window.

The 28 year-old is known to be on the radars of several Champions League clubs, including Ligue 1 champions PSG and Premier League outfit Manchester United.

Indeed, he was billed as David De Gea’s successor at Old Trafford amid reports of the Spaniard’s big-money move to Real Madrid, after recording the most saves of any goalkeeper in the Premier League’s top six last season – a whopping 89.

The France international was also linked with a move to PSG following an underwhelming 2014/15 campaign from their No.1 Salvatore Sirigu, having previously won back-to-back Goalkeeper of the Year awards in Ligue 1.

Neither move materialised by the close of the summer transfer window but according to The Express, who cite French publication L’Equipe, Lloris has hinted he would have been open to leaving White Hart Lane for another club this summer.

He said; “A lot of things were said and written – there could have been a development there but the desired movement didn’t happen.”

However, the former Lyon man went on to insist that he’s fully focused on Tottenham’s season, adding; “I have a lot of affection for Tottenham. I feel respected, I have a very good relationship with the staff and I’m ready to play the best season possible.”
