Anthony Martial

According to reports from BBC Sport yesterday evening, Manchester United are expected to complete a £36million move for Monaco prodigy Anthony Martial today.

The 19 year-old has claimed 15 goals in 68 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit and developed at a phenomenal rate since his debut in November 2013. Many have compared him with Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, through his lightening pace, technical quality and distinctive long-legged gallop.

The 5 foot 11 forward was on Tottenham Hotspur’s radar earlier this summer, with The Daily Mail alleging a potential bid around the £18million mark back in July.

But the Red Devils’ offer of £36million was accepted yesterday, leading France manager Didier Deschamps to excuse Martial from international duty in order to undergo a medical at Old Trafford.

Should United wrap up the deal before today’s 6pm deadline, the 19 year-old will become the most expensive teenager in football history. He’ll also become Manchester United’s third-most expensive signing of all time, after £37million man Juan Mata and £59.7million flop Angel Di Maria.

Panic buying by LVG. Can’t see how Anthony Martial can potentially cost 58m when Clinton N’jie cost 10m when both are playing in the same league and share similar stats. Is the potential really worth an extra 48m? After splashing so much money, ManU is playing really boring football. I think this is going to be another waste of money.

i think united board are not okay due to marsive amount of money they are splashing on players that are not worth for. i felt sad when i had the departure of javier hernandez which is wrong, van gaal never give him playing time, like wise van persier,i think ROOBEN will be the solution. If not united will find it difficult for any title contender.

Can’t help but feel were destined to become a mid table club once more.
Yet another transfer window about to close and we haven’t had a reliable front line since selling Berbatov to MU and Keane to Lfc all those years ago.
Still a few hour left yet i suppose.
