According to reports from Europe1, summarised in English by the International Business Times, Lyon starlet Nabil Fekir has opened the door to a ‘dream’ Manchester United move next summer.
The 22 year-old was in phenomenal form last season as the supporting act to Ligue 1 Golden Boot winner Alexandre Lacazette, bagging 13 goals and nine assists in 34 league outings to claim the division’s Young Player of the Year award.
That’s seen him emerge as a fixture in Didier Deschamps’ plans for the French national team, claiming four caps and one goal since his debut against Brazil in March, and a potential target for Premier League duo Arsenal and Liverpool.
Both were linked with the attacking midfielder earlier this summer before he signed a five-year contract extension at Stade de Gerland in July, but it’s divisional rivals Manchester United Fekir has revealed an interest in joining next summer.
He said; “Why not one day play for Manchester United? It is a club that makes you dream. But I am not there yet, the need to have a good season at Lyon comes first. Then, we will see.”
Fekir was discussing Anthony Martial’s £36million move to Old Trafford, a former Les Gones team-mate and compatriot, stating; “Anthony is a very good player. I played with him at Lyon. Of course that is a very large sum of money. But we know that clubs like that are able to pay that kind of money for good players.”
