Calhanoglu

According to reports from The Metro and Turkish-Football, Manchester United are preparing a £29.4million bid for Bayer Leverkusen prodigy Hakan Calhanoglu.

The 21 year-old is widely regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in the Bundesliga and is particularly famed for his proficiency from dead ball situations; a trait mostly responsible for his career return of 46 goals and 33 assists in 151 appearances – including five goals and one assist in eleven outings this season.

The Turkey international has reportedly made AC Milan’s shortlist of ‘the world’s best young talent’, with TuttoSport claiming he’s become the San Siro outfit’s primary target.

But Manchester United were linked with a £25million bid for Calhanoglu on summer deadline day and according to The Metro, who cite Turkish-Football and SoccerNews, they could soon return for the attacking midfielder, who scored the most free kicks of any player in Europe last season.

They claim the Red Devils are now preparing an offer just below the £30million mark – which would more than double the €14.5million Leverkusen paid for Calhanoglu last summer.
