According to reports from The Express this afternoon, Manchester United will announce a £28million deal for Benfica winger Nicolas Gaitan by the end of the week.
The Argentina international is widely regarded as one of the biggest talents outside of Europe’s five leading top flights, having played a vital role in Benfica claiming back-to-back Primeira Liga titles and reaching consecutive Europa Leage finals in the last three seasons.

He was mooted as a potential target of Chelsea and Liverpool’s earlier this summer and The Express once again document the Anfield outfit’s interest in the 27 year-old.
But Gaitan has been linked with an Old Trafford switch for much of his Benfica career and according to the British tabloid, a deal will be announced before the end of the week.
Citing Portuguese publication A Bola, they claim agent Jorge Mendez is on his way to Manchester to try and trash out personal terms – but a £28million bid has already been accepted by the Estadio da Luz outfit.
