Kevin de Bruyne

According to reports from Goal yesterday evening, agent Patrick De Koster has claimed there’s ‘no way’ Manchester City and Manchester United target Kevin De Bruyne will hand in a transfer request at Wolfsburg.

The ex-Chelsea star struggled to impress during his two years at Stamford Bridge, being sold to Wolfsburg for £18million in January 2014 after just six first team appearances.

He’s emerged as one of the top attacking midfielders in European football since, however, finishing last season with 10 goals and 20 assists in 34 Bundesliga appearances – the most set-ups of any player in Europe’s five leading top flights – to claim the Footballer of the Year award in Germany.

Manchester United have been linked with the Belgium international, whilst Manchester City have already launched two bids – the latest being worth a whopping £47million.

Reports earlier this week claimed the Citizens’ bid had convinced the 24 year-old to force his way out of the Volkswagen Arena, but agent Patrick De Koster has now insisted that’s not the case.

As quoted by Goal, who cite The Guardian, he said; “There is no way we would do something like that – we have a good working relationship with Wolfsburg and a transfer request is not something that happens in Germany.

“At this stage we have not received a call to say that any bid has been accepted and until we do Kevin will stay where he is.”
