6. Harry Kane

According to reports from The Express this morning, Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to sign Javier Hernandez this summer but Manchester United want star striker Harry Kane in return.

The Lilywhites are in need of new options in attack, with flopped signings Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado both expected to leave the club before the end of the transfer window, and they’ve been linked with United’s Chicarito for much of the summer.

But the Red Devils are reluctant to let the Mexico international leave without securing a replacement first and according to The Express, Tottenham’s Harry Kane is at the top of their list.

The 22 year-old finished up as the top-scoring Englishman in the Premier League last season with 21 goals in 34 appearances and netted just 80 seconds into his Three Lions debut against Lithuania in March.

The Old Trafford outfit have already made ‘discrete enquiries‘ into the 6 foot 2 centre-forward’s availability and they’re now using Hernandez as leverage to try and force the north Londoners to sell.

Under contract until 2020, however, and arguably their greatest academy product since Ledley King, it will take a monumental offer – Hernandez included – to convince Spurs to sell.

The chances of Harry going to Utd have been zero from the word go. The only place it’s been possible is in the press. i saw one yesterday that said it won’t be possible “this summer”…like it’s possible next? The boy doesn’t want to leave!! He’s stated numerous times he’s a spurs fan and is looking to be at the club for a long long time. Now I’m reading that Utd are looking to tempt Tottenham by saying you can have Hernandez if Kane comes the other way. In what dimension is that tempting!?!
