Stephan El Shaarawy

According to reports from The Express yesterday evening, the agent of AC Milan forward Stephan El Shaarawy has refused to rule out a summer move to the Premier League.

The 22 year-old was dubbed one of the most promising young talents in European football when he bagged 19 goals in 46 appearances during the 2012/13 campaign. But recurring injures since have seen him struggle to rekindle that lethal form, managing just three goals in his next 23 Serie A outings for the San Siro outfit.

Regardless, the Italy international remains a commonly mooted target of the Premier League’s top clubs. Back in December 2012, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger told EuroSport; “El Shaarawy is a very mobile, very technical young player. His philosophy fits perfectly with mine,” as reported by The Daily Mail.

The Gunners boss was linked to the winger-forward yet again in April this year by The Telegraph, whilst The Express claim he’s also a long-term target of both Liverpool and Manchester United.

And now El Shaarawy’s brother and agent, Manuel, has added further fuel to continuous speculation by refusing to rule out a summer move away from Milan.

“He’s happy at Milan,” said Manuel. “Let’s see what happens with the team this summer, the transfer campaign seems a bit different from recent years.

“A move for El Shaarway? There have been several teams interested, Stephan is a player who lots of teams like. There were several offers, both in January and now in the summer, offers which we looked at.

“We can’t rule anything out, the transfer market is always the transfer market,” he added.
