Aymen Abdennour

According to reports from The Liverpool Echo yesterday evening, Liverpool are targeting Monaco stars Lucas Ocampos and Aymen Abdennour in a double-raid on the Ligue 1 club.

The former comes highly-rated as a 20 year-old who initially joined Monaco in Ligue 2 from River Plate for a €15million fee, despite spending the latter half of last season on loan at Marseille.

The attacking midfielder boasts 17 goals in 99 outings for the French big spenders, but managed to net just once during his twelve-game stint at Stade Velodrome.

The latter, on the other hand, is an experienced centre-half who spent three years at Toulouse before moving to Monaco last summer.

And his form since has attracted plenty of interest from Merseyside and yonder. Whilst Brendan Rodgers views the Tunisia international as a potential solution to Liverpool’s shaky defence, the 25 year-old has also been mooted as a potential Arsenal target by The Metro and a Bayern Munich target by The Express.

Abdennour is certainly open to the notion of a summer move according to The Metro, telling French publication L’Equipe earlier this week; “I am ready for anything… I’d love to play for big clubs. Why not leave so I can make more progress?

“I do not think everyone will leave. I am ready for anything. I trust my President and my director. They know me, I will not put pressure on them. We respect each other, we work as a family,” he added.
