According to reports from The Daily Star this afternoon, Liverpool have dropped out of the race to sign £20million-rated Manchester City striker Edin Dzkeo.
The Bosnian international has claimed 71 goals in 185 appearances since arriving at the Etihad in January 2011 despite predominantly featuring from the bench, helping fire the Citizens to two Premier League titles and one FA Cup.
But his days at Eastlands appear to be numbered, following the £25million arrival of former Swansea City front-man Wilfried Bony in January.

As This Is Futbol revealed last month, Liverpool and Chelsea were believed to be eyeing summer bids for the 29 year-old, with both Premier League outfits expected to make additions to their respective strike forces during the transfer window.
But according to The Daily Star, the Reds have now dropped out of the race to sign Dzeko, leaving the Premier League champions in pole position. They, however, will have to meet Manuel Pellegrini’s £20million valuation of the 6 foot 4 target man.
