Central Midfield - Paul Pogba

According to reports from The Express this morning, Chelsea are ‘leading the race’ to sign Juventus star Paul Pogba this summer.

The France international failed to make the first team grade during his three years at Manchester United. But since swapping Old Trafford for the Old Lady in summer 2012, he’s emerged as one of the most coveted midfielders in world football, boasting a unique blend of imperious athleticism, rugged defending, trickery and netting prowess

After claiming a third consecutive Serie A title with Juve – and potentially this year’s Champions League title – many expect the 22 year-old to leave Turin this summer.

As This Is Futbol revealed earlier this month, seven major European outfits are believed to be chasing Pogba’s signature – including Arsenal, Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester City, PSG, Real Madrid and former club Manchester United.

But The Express, who quote Italian sources, claim the Blues are currently leading the race for Pogba’s services – who they also report to be valued at £70million by the Italian champions.

Manager Jose Mourininho and chairman Roman Abramovic are both keen on a deal – but Juve are demanding Brazilian playmaker Oscar, who has struggled for form in the second half of the season, in exchange for the 2013 Golden Boy winner.
