Andreas Pereira

Earlier this week, This Is Futbol informed you of PSG and Juventus’ interest in Manchester United youngster Andreas Pereira. The 19 year-old’s contract is coming to an end this summer and the French and Italian champions are both hoping he’ll follow the line of Paul Pogba in leaving the Old Trafford outfit on a free transfer.

The Belgium-born Brazilian midfielder has been with the Red Devils since 2011 after moving from PSV’s academy in Holland, and has gone on to captain his club across the various youth levels – most notably during the 2013 Milk Cup where he also won the Player of the Tournament award.

A report from The Metro yesterday afternoon claimed United had offered Pereira a rather lucrative contract extension, despite calling upon him for just 14 minutes in the Premier League thus far this season – during a recent 3-0 win over Tottenham.

But Manchester Evening News reported a few hours later that PSG would in fact more than double United’s offer to the prodigious playmaker, and are willing to stretch to €30k per-week – a significantly larger package than the £6k per-week on the table at Carrington.

Whether it’s finance or first team football predominantly affecting Pereira’s decision-making, however, remains to be seen.
