Koke

According to reports from The Metro this afternoon, an unnamed Premier League club has made a £21.7million bid for Atletico Madrid star Koke.

The 23 year-old is a key component in a Diego Simeone side that have claimed four trophies since 2011, including last year’s La Liga title, and has resultantly emerged as one of the most sought-after midfielders in Europe – in no small part due to him claiming eleven goals and 31 assists in his last 95 league appearances.

Chelsea and Man United are both believed to be targeting the Spain international ahead of the summer window, as reported by The Daily Star earlier this month, but The Metro now claim another English club has launched a £21.7million bid.

It follows news that the Mattress Makers could be forced to offload a key player this summer to balance their books – as claimed by The Daily Star last week. But with Koke’s release clause reportedly set at £48million, courtesy of Manchester Evening News, the mystery offer is unlikely to convince them to sell.
