Branislav Ivanovic

According to reports from Mirror Football yesterday evening, European giants Bayern Munich and PSG are targeting Chelsea star Branislav Ivanovic.

The Serbian international has been in fantastic form this season, contributing four goals and four assists from right-back whilst featuring in every minute of the Blues’ Premier League campaign thus far – barring his last-second sending off against Manchester United in October.

And since arriving at Stamford Bridge in 2008, Ivanovic has claimed every major honour with the west London club, including the 2012 Champions League title.

Now 31 years of age, however, the defender has just one season remaining on his current contract – and the Blues have a policy of only offering one-year extensions to players over 30.

As reported by Mirror Football back in March, they do intend to offer him a new deal. But the fact nothing is yet agreed has triggered interest from both Bayern Munich and PSG – although neither are particularly short on top quality defenders.
