Kevin de Bruyne

According to reports from The Daily Mail this afternoon, the agent of Kevin de Bruyne has adamantly denied his client has already agreed a move away from Wolfsburg this summer.

The Belgium international failed to make the grade at Chelsea and was sold by Jose Mourinho in January 2014. But he’s since gone on to become one of the most dominant forces in the Bundesliga – his 16 league assists this term only matched throughout Europe’s five leading top flights by Blues playmaker Cesc Fabregas.

De Bruyne has been strongly linked with a move back to the Premier League in recent months, with Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United all mooted as potential suitors by The Express back in January.

Speaking to FOCUS Online, agent Patrick De Koster admitted there have been some informal inquiries made regarding the midfielder, but denied any negotiations that might result in him leaving the Volkswagon Arena this summer are currently underway.

He also stressed that he’d received absolutely no contact from Bayern Munich, another allegedly interested party; “I can assure you there have not been any talks with Bayern Munich. When you want to know whether Bayern are interested in signing Kevin, you should ask [sporting director] Matthias Sammer or [technical director] Michael Reschke. It is true that I have worked with Reschke before, but that does not mean anything now.

“We will sit down with Wolfsburg first, that is a matter of respect. They supported Kevin during a difficult period, when he was unhappy at Chelsea,” he added.
