Wilshere

According to reports from The Daily Mail, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed Manchester City target Jack Wilshere won’t be on the market this summer.

As This Is Futbol informed you earlier this week, the Citizens are reportedly keen on a summer deal for the midfielder, alongside fellow England internationals Jordan Henderson and Raheem Sterling, in a bid to improve their home-grown quota.

Having endured a spate of injury problems over the last few seasons and now entering the final two years of his Emirates contract, a big-money move to City seemed somewhat plausible for Arsenal and England’s prodigious playmaker.

But Arsene Wenger has made it adamantly clear that the 23 year-old isn’t for sale this summer, despite City being likely to bid around £30million for his services, as claimed in a prior report from The Daily Mail.

“You can imagine my answer, we are not in a position where we have to sell our best players,” responded Wenger when quizzed on the issue.

Wilshere’s spent the last few months on the sidelines but – as reported by BBC Sport – the midfielder feels he’s now ready for a return to the first team.
