According to reports from The Daily Star this morning, Premier League relegation-battlers Burnley have denied they’re already in talks to sell star striker Danny Ings, with Manchester United and Liverpool believed to be his likeliest suitors.

The England U21 is set to enter the summer transfer window as one of the Premier League’s most sought-after players, having now entered the final few months of his Turf Moor contract after bagging nine goals and four assists in his debut top flight campaign.

Available for just £5million via a compensation agreement, a host of English clubs have been linked to his signature, whilst admirers from abroad include David Moyes’ Real Sociedad and Bundesliga outfit Schalke.

English clubs aren’t allowed to discuss terms with Ings until the summer unless they negotiate a price with Burnley first.

It was believed Man United had begun to exercise this option, but The Daily Star sources the Lancashire Telegraph in revealing Burnley’s denials of any talks being currently underway.

The Turf Moor outfit may be hoping Premier League survival this season can convince the 22 year-old to stay on for longer than expected.
