According to reports from The Daily Star this morning, Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has admitted Arsenal and Manchester United target Morgan Schneiderlin could leave St. Mary’s this summer – with a string of top Premier League sides allegedly courting his services.

The defensive midfielder has continually impressed since Southampton’s top flight ascension in summer 2012, last term muscling his way into the France national team just in time for the 2014 World Cup.

This year, Schneiderlin has shown equally strong form, netting three times in 23 Premier League appearances whilst averaging 3.7 tackles per match – the second-most in the division after Manchester City’s Pablo Zabaleta.

The Saints held onto the 25 year-old last summer despite their infamous exodus of playing and coaching personnel, such as now-Liverpool trio Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren and Rickie Lambert, but Koeman has admitted it will be a tougher task this time around.

“It will be hard when there is real interest in the player. It is up to the player what he likes to do. It is very hard but normally if we have the season like we have so far there will be interest in the players of Southampton,” he said.

“If he gets a big offer from a big team, there is always interest for the player and I understand that. That is normal, we know our level and that is a compliment for the players and the club,” he added.

Although Arsenal and Manchester United are mooted as favourites for his signature by The Daily Star, Chelsea are also alleged admirers, as reported by us at This Is Futbol earlier this week.
