According to reports Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are prepared to offer Arsenal target Edinson Cavani a £300k per-week contract to lure him to Old Trafford this summer.
As This Is Futbol informed earlier this week, the Uruguay striker’s future in Paris remains shrouded in doubt after his touchline bust-up with manager Laurent Blanc during PSG’s 3-2 win over Marseille at the weekend.
Cavani found himself fielded out wide to make room for Zlatan Ibrahimovic up top and appeared to express his disappointment in no uncertain terms when he was subbed off after an hour.
Cavani’s agent hasn’t helped matters by talking up a move to either Spain or England this summer – as reported by This Is Futbol yesterday.
Arsenal and Manchester United have both been linked with the 28 year-old, who boasts 43 goals in 82 appearances for PSG, by numerous news sources, including The Express.
But Manchester Evening News claim the Red Devils will blow their Premier League rivals out of the water with a £300k per-week contract offer – that would put him on parity with club captain Wayne Rooney.
According to the Daily Mail, they want to sign Cavani as Robin van Persie’s replacement, with the ageing Dutchman reportedly being targeted by Inter Milan.
