Andre Ayew

According to reports from Wales Online this afternoon, Swansea City have offered a contract to bosman-bound Marseille star Andre Ayew.

The 25 year-old has proved himself to be one of the most proficient wide-men in Ligue 1 since his debut in 2007, going on to claim 57 goals in 187 appearances for L’OM – including seven goals in 21 league outings this season.

He’s also represented Ghana at the last two World Cups – reaching the quarter-finals with them in 2010 – and claimed the Golden Boot (named the Goal King award) during this year’s African Cup of Nations.

Due to his Stade Velodrome deal expiring at the end of the season, however, foreign clubs have been allowed to negotiate pre-contract agreements since the end the January transfer window.

As The Express reports, many expected the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool to come knocking at Ayew’s door, having been strongly linked with him over the last 18 months.

But it appears Swansea have got there first with a contract worth €300k per-month. Whether the Ligue 1 forward will accept the contract or wait to hear offers from his other potential suitors remains to be seen.
