Jonathan Biabiany

As reported by Goal.com this afternoon, former Southampton and Everton target Jonathan Biabiany has terminated his Parma contract by mutual consent.

Both Premier League sides were linked to the explosive winger last summer by The Express, following a 2013/14 campaign in which his seven goals and seven assists helped Parma record a 6th-place finish in Serie A.

The former France U21 had planned to move to AC Milan instead during the offseason, but his medical at the San Siro revealed a rare heart defect.

The transfer was actually halted by Cristian Zaccardo refusing to go the other direction in an exchange deal but the 26 year-old has since been forced to take precautionary measures, going on to make just one Serie A appearance this year.

And after Parma were declared bankrupt earlier this season, Biabiany has agreed to have his three-year contract terminated to save costs whilst his future remains shrouded in doubt.

It is yet to be confirmed whether the winger will seek new employment or be forced into an early retirement.
