With Louis Van Gaal now in charge at Manchester United, the British Press have had a field day linking the club to Dutch footballers and players with some kind of history with Bayern Munich. It’s fairly drab, predictable stuff, but it has thrown up the occasional exciting transfer link.
Take The Mirror‘s claim that Louis Van Gaal is set to raid his Holland World Cup squad for not one but two players. The footballers in question both play for Feyenoord. Their names are Jordy Clasie and Bruno Martines Indi and they play as a midfielder and a centre-back respectively.
At just 22-years-old, Clasie has already earned a great reputation. There are those who call him the ‘Dutch Xavi’ (why not just call him the next Wesley Sneijder and be done with it?). He’s also earned some comparisons to Andrea Pirlo, which I think you’ll agree is pretty high praise.
As you’d expect, he passes the ball quickly, accurately and into deadly areas. He’s got an uncanny ability for turning into space and earning time on the ball. His technique is excellent and he’d certainly add some flair to a stilted Manchester United midfield. He’d represent a massive step up on the likes of Tom Cleverley.
Then there’s centre-back Bruno Martins Indi, who’s also 22-years-old. The Dutch ace is one of the most promising young defenders in world football. He’s quick along the turf, strong in the tackle and he wins 9 out of 10 aerial duels.
With both Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic making a break for it this summer, Martins Indi looks like a more or less essential signing. If The Red Devils only swoop in for one of this Dutch duo, I hope they pick him.
But both are fantastic options. The fact that they’re both playing for the Dutch international side at a young age is a sign of their prowess. What’s more, Louis Van Gaal already knows the players well. If he feels that they’re good enough to improve Manchester United, then they probably are.
Let’s just hope that Feyenoord are willing to let go of two of their best players.

Jordy clasie is an exerting player, he will definitely add creativity and pace to our midfield. Then on the other hand, I’m kind of sort of words cos have not watched him closely. However his options will be great cos he is an experienced coach.
