Why Arsenal should say ‘No’ to Cesc Fabregas:

Cesc FabregasAfter a half-decent season, The Gunners will want to come back even stronger next year. Yes, they won The FA Cup (their first piece of silverware in 9 years), but they also managed to let their Premier League title tilt slip. I’m sure Arsene Wenger will be desperate to keep pace next time around.

Who knows? With a bit of action in the transfer market, perhaps The Gunners will be able to keep pace with the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City. Maybe they’ll be able to prevent Manchester United from making a return to their title-winning ways.

But that’s only if Arsene Wenger plays his cards right. If he makes the wrong decisions in the summer transfer market, The Gunners could be set for another season of disappointment.

This brings me to The Mirror‘s claim that The Gunners are interested in signing Cesc Fabregas, but that bringing the Barcelona star to The Emirates isn’t a ‘priority’. The source suggests that Arsene Wenger is ‘considering’ bringing Cesc back, but that he’s dedicating most of his efforts to signing a new striker and a holding midfielder.

This strikes me as pretty smart. The only thing I’d add, is that he may need to sign a right-back if Bacary Sagna opts to leave The Gunners this summer.

I’m sure that Arsenal fans would love to see Cesc Fabregas back at his old club. He’s a massive part of The Gunners history (even if he never won silverware in England) and on many occasions single-handedly managed to drag lacklustre Arsenal sides to victory.

Unfortunately, he’s just not what Arsenal need at this moment in time. The Gunners are currently fully-loaded with midfield options. With Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey and Santi Cazorla all at the peak of their game, I’m not sure that Cesc would be able to considerably improve this team. If Arsene Wenger were to spend as much on a striker as he would on Cesc, he might well force the club into another golden age.

A world-class centre-forward would represent a massive step forward for The Gunners. Cesc Fabregas, on the other hand, strikes me a sideways step. Let’s hope that Arsene Wenger knows which direction to push the club in this summer.

What’s your take? Is it time for Arsenal fans to finally let Cesc Fabregas go?

You say we don’t need cesc but if we had him last year when everyone got injured then we might gave gained Agee more points and who knows we might of still been in with a shout with couple games to go. All the top top sides have strength in depth and as long as we do buy a top quality striker and I think we will this time then then fabrigas would be a luxury that we shouldn’t say no to. The guy is class and we wouldn’t want our rivals getting him

Even if you assured me that signing him would mean Arsenal finishing 5th,I would still prefer him home, not because he’s good but because he loves home as well as I do,
