Could this Inter Milan ace be the next piece of Manchester United’s jigsaw puzzle?

Fredy GuarinWith only a couple of days left in the January, it looks as if Manchester United are going to settle on bringing in one player to Old Trafford.

There is no doubt that Juan Mata is a class player, but United can’t stop at the Spaniard as they still need to find replacements in the defence and midfield. Plus, with the injury to Michael Carrick leaving him out on the side lines for at least six weeks, another midfielder may be necessary.

The man who could be making a move to United in an attempt to revive the Red Devil’s season is Inter Milan’s central midfielder, Fredy Guarin. (Source: The Mirror)

Although the Colombian would not be a direct replacement for Carrick whilst injured, a partnership between him and Mata in the central of the park would revamp the midfield and possibly provide the spark of life that the club has been missing.

His recent form has been spectacular, as he has collected 11 assists and 3 goals from only 22 games. This proves he has what it takes to provide for Manchester United’s illustrious strikers. But would he be able to carry his fantastic form into the demanding Premier League?

The Mirror also claim that United are proposing a player swap involving Javier Hernandez. How would United fans feel about shipping off their super sub? Another plus to the signing would be that he isn’t cup tied in the Champions League. Surely Moyes would be tempted to put a bid on the talented 27- year old?

Overall, I think that Moyes should be more concerned about other areas of the pitch that now need work, such as the centre of the defence, both wing backs and maybe even a replacement striker with the injuries that both Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney are carrying around.

Nevertheless, he’s a talented player who seems to be heading out of Inter Milan and his exciting play would definitely be welcome in the Premier League. Manchester United certainly seem to be on the right track. Here’s hoping that the club’s January activity will see them spring back up the Premier League table.

What’s your thoughts? Should United try and sign Guarin before the end of the window?
