Luis-Suarez-LiverpoolWhen you think of the best strikers in the Premier League the names that come to mind are undoubtedly Sergio Aguero and Luis Suarez, but after a spell of world class goals, it’s Suarez who seems to be grabbing the headlines.

Since the 26-year-old joined in 2011 he has played an instrumental part in the club, after filling in for Fernando Torres. Following a recent flurry of goals, he now sits at the top of the running for the Golden Boot award with 13 goals this season. What I love about him is his first touch, ability to weave around any defense and his free-kicks aren’t bad either!

It is evident to see that Suarez has been one of the league’s most effective strikers from his recent performances and Liverpool will certainly be desperate to keep the Uruguayan at the club if they want a chance at regaining a beloved Champions League spot.

Brendan Rodgers knows that the bids will come rolling in from the top clubs. He will most likely try to offer him a new contract to keep him at the club. I would assume a raise in the player’s wages would also be involved, as if the likes of Chelsea and Man City were to make a monumental bid for the striker they would be able to dig out his desired wages out of their back pockets.

In the grand scheme of things, Liverpool’s main aim isn’t to be selfish and gain all the cash they can grab their hands on, but to challenge the likes of Everton, Tottenham and both Manchester clubs and get back to their glory days. If Suarez was to go it would only create more trouble for the club. It would mean that they would need to find another top quality striker to fill his boots (which would be almost impossible), just with a lot more money in the bank.

Do not fear Liverpool fans, as Suarez has said in a recent interview, “I am happy here” and will “help the club to regain a place in the Champions League.”

From what the sources have been telling us, Suarez doesn’t look like leaving the club anytime soon (well at least not in the January transfer window). With the prices that attacking players cost these days, Liverpool should need at least a £50 million bid to even consider losing out on a sublime player.

Finally, if he was to go, let’s just hope he doesn’t turn into another Torres.

What fee do you think Suarez would cost if he were to go?
