RangersThat great Welsh diva Shirley Bassey once sang “It’s just a case of history repeating itself”.

And if there is ever a line that perfectly sums up everything going on down Ibrox way, then that is exactly that.

Twelve months ago Rangers were a shambles both on and off the park with new and old directors bickering, whilst Ally McCoist struggled to display any tactical nous to beat the likes of the mighty Stirling Albion and Annan Athletic.

Now in the early days of a new season, further boardroom infighting and a shambles of a performance at Forfar have left Bears angry, frustrated and disillusioned.

Firstly let’s deal with what is happening on the field of play.

Now, without wishing to sound like a broken record, I will repeat my mantra from last season – Ally McCoist is not up to the job of being Rangers manager. He should either do the honourable thing and allow someone else the opportunity of guiding the first team or the board of directors should be tasked with relieving him of his duties.

This is not alarmist talk formed on the back of a woeful loss at Station Park and elimination at the first hurdle of the League Cup. I have been firm in my opinion of McCoist’s abilities as a manager from day one and like a growing majority of Gers supporters, I am becoming bored with his same old tired rhetoric after every defeat.

Pointing the finger of blame at Charles Green, I will come to him later, does not excuse the fact that the Rangers boss appears to be incapable of organising a team to deal with part-time opponents. His continual insistence of playing a holding midfielder against lowly opposition and also sending out a team with just the one striker is embarrassing.

Ally’s record as a player is incredible, 251 goals and 418 appearances in light blue is more than enough justification for him to be forever held up as a Rangers legend. But, his record as a manager is not something to be proud of and is unfortunately beginning to have a negative effect to his reputation as ‘Super Ally’ in the eyes of the Follow Follow brigade.

You seem to be well informed, i assume you have all the coaching qualifications to be able to judge ally, i think with everything he has had to put up with since he became boss he should be applauded for copeing with ill informed so called fans and the pressure coming from the top of rangers board.
