Vlad ChirichesThe way Spurs have taken to the transfer window has been a sight to behold. It’s been a lesson in effective, smart buying that rivals like Arsenal would do well to learn.

With Arsene Wenger telling everybody who’ll listen that it’s difficult to find talented players at the moment, Andre Villas-Boas and Franco Baldini, Tottenham’s current Technical Director, deserve a round of applause.

Thanks to the incoming signings, a wave of good feeling had built around White Hart Lane. There’s a been such a boost in confidence that some are talking about Tottenham being potential title-winners. Spurs simply haven’t been in this kind of position for some time.

That’s the boost that making new signings brings. And if you believe the Papers, there’s still more to come. According to The Star, Tottenham are ready to seal a deal for Vlad Chiriches, a player they almost signed earlier this month.

The Steaua Bucharest enforcer has earned an excellent reputation over the last couple of years and looks like he’s due a move to a big club. I’m sure he’d jump at the opportunity to move to the Lane and that he’d be an excellent addition to the club’s line-up.

With Spurs looking a little light in defensive personnel, it’s good to see that AVB is still looking to address his back-four.

The Romanian’s agent spoke previously about how close a Spurs deal was to fruition:

“It’s at the 99% mark, it is made, it lacks only the signature of the boy who will arrive soon, Steaua had offers of £6m and £6.5m, but did not accept and said they only want £6.9m.”

However, the quibbling was brought to a quick end, when Steaua’s owner, Gigi Becali got involved and put a spanner in the works. Seemingly upset about his lack of involvement, Becali sent Spurs packing.

Now there’s talk that Spurs may come back with a £7m offer. This is likely to be enough to seal the deal and ensure that Vlad gets his move.

At only 23-years-old, the player looks set for a big future. In a few years time, we may look back on this signing as a true bargain. As things currently stand, it would be yet another excellent addition to an already strong squad. Full speed ahead for Spurs.

What’s your take? Are you excited to see Tottenham finalising a deal for Vlad Chiriches?

What a bell end, blatantly a spurs fan. It will be 5th/6th place finish again. Don’t kid yourself!

Wenger is making it appear as though there aren’t good players out there. Is this enough to make players want to rebuff Arsenal? I believe so. Spurs is showing Wenger that his assessment is wide of the Mark.

Did the same when he passed on Modric (and, allegedly, Bale too) – he said the Croatian was too slight to cope with the EPL.

Vlad Chiriches value 1.5 years ago was 700 000 euro and now is 8 milion. It is a cold blood player and his price and value will grow dramatic

Its time for him to tell us fans is he competent enough in the transfers windows like other clubs , the neighbours tottenham.
