Can Arsenal make this £20m deal happen?

Paul PogbaFollowing an opening day defeat to Aston Villa, a whole slew of fresh transfer rumours surrounded Arsenal. It had been a summer marked by inactivity, but it suddenly began to look as though the club had it’s finger in many pies.

Whether this was merely the club’s attempt to appease fans, or another case of Arsenal panic buying, at least the Gunners are finally taking action.

It’s all too clear that Arsenal will fail to secure a top four finish unless some serious cash is splashed. But what does Wenger have planned?

The Frenchman is extremely difficult to read. He’s known to keep his transfer cards extremely close to his chest. Yet we know that Arsenal have been in for Newcastle playmaker Yohan Cabaye and The Star also suggests that the club is in the market for Juventus star Paul Pogba.

Yes, that’s the same Paul Pogba who left Manchester United amongst a storm of controversy last summer. Despite still being very young, the ace midfielder felt like he wasn’t getting enough opportunities at Old Trafford and decided for fly the coup.

Since moving to Turin, the Frenchman’s reputation has only improved. He made 37 appearances for the Serie A side last season, scoring 5 goals, including a 40-yard stunner against Udinese.

With his quick feet, excellent passing ability and expert reading of the game, he shows a massive amount of potential. At just 20-years-old, there’s really no telling exactly how good Pogba could get. I can’t help but wonder if Manchester United are disappointed that the player slipped from their grip.

The Star claims that Arsenal are weighing up a £20m bid for Pogba. That’s a lot of money for a young player, but he seems to merit it.

Unfortunately, Juventus’ chief exec, Beppe Moratta has moved to quash the rumours: “Forget Pogba. We have no intention of listening to proposals that can be received in our midfield”.

Whilst he’s made the club’s position quite clear, it’s up to Arsenal to provide them with an offer they can’t refuse. Italian clubs are usually willing to sell if the price is right and we know that the Gunners have plenty of money to spend.

I’d say it’s about time that Arsene Wenger stopped talking and started spending. Let’s hope he can make a deal for Pogba to happen.

What’s your take? Would you like to see Arsenal go in for Paul Pogba?

Who is wenger buying? I hope he will end up buying unknown players who will make matter worst to arsenal. We are tired of this man. The man against fulham the gunners has no sub. If two or three players had problem it could have been a game over. Is the board sleeping? Why all this be happening to arsenal?
