Christian EriksenWhen will the constant back-and-forth between Liverpool football club and Danish play-maker, Christian Eriksen, come to an end? The two parties have been batting their eyelashes at one another for long enough. It’s about time that one of them did the dirty.

Eriksen currently plays for Ajax, but seems destined to move this summer. The energetic young midfielder has built a rock-solid reputation following a string of fantastic performances in the centre of the park.

He’s your typical all-action midfielder. He can pass, run, shoot and tackle. Of all these qualities, however, he’s probably best known for his passing. He distributes the ball quickly, accurately and effectively. His build-up play over the last year has helped Ajax to top the Eredivisie.

All this, and he’s just 21-years-old. The young Dane is set for a big future, but who with?

Luckily, he hasn’t been shy around the Press in recent times. Whenever he’s given an opportunity to talk about his situation he tends to do so.

Speaking about his links to both Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool, he said: “They are two very different leagues but they are also very alike. The German league is on its way up where the English league is now. So I won’t prefer one before the other. And it also rains equally much in Germany as it does in England.” (Source: Sky Sports)

He also mentions that he wont “play in a club that prefers to play with long balls”, but you get the feeling that he’s currently playing the field waiting for an offer to come in. I’m sure he’ll move to which-soever club offers him (and Ajax) the most money.

Having said that, Eriksen has earned his move to a big club. I only hope that Liverpool is the club who gets to him first.

It strikes me that Brendan Rodgers already tried to sign a player in Eriksen’s mould when he went after Joe Allen. Unfortunately, that move didn’t pay off. Allen has looked overawed at Anfield, but I doubt that will be the case with Christian Eriksen.

He’s been confident enough to talk up a move. I’m sure that this confidence will help him to make the step up, despite his young age.

I’m sure also that his price-tag will sky-rocket over the coming years. That’s why it makes sense for Liverpool to strike now, before he attracts any more attention. Here’s hoping that Rodgers is ready and willing to seal the deal.

What’s your take? Is Christian Eriksen a good fit for the Reds?

Forget fringe players, sign Christian Eriksen now!! 21 Years old, recommended by Daniel Agger and Jan Molby, will become world class at Liverpool. His value will double in a couple of years. Players we have bought with Danish background have stayed with the club when we have needed them – North European. Long term he will become a fantastic buy for the club. We need a midfielder of his ability to take the pressure off some of the other experienced players.

Will take the pressure off the existing experienced players and will be around for a good 10 years. YNWA
