What happens when you win the League, but lose your Manager? The great Manchester United experiment will begin next season and it’s sure to be fascinating to watch.
Sir Alex Ferguson can legitimately claim to be the best manager of all time. The best David Moyes can claim is that he did a good job with the tools he had at Everton.
Whether he’s ready to take the reins at Old Trafford is anybody’s guess. I wish him well, but the fans are likely to be unforgiving should he not settle in quickly.
As such, fans and pundits alike will be watching Moyes’ transfer activity with great interest, waiting to see whether the signs bode well.
If he brings in the right people, he may be able to hit the ground running. If he sticks, rather than twists, he could struggle against big-spenders like Chelsea and Manchester City next season.
But who should he look to snap up in the summer transfer window?
According to The Express, Manchester United have had Benfica ace Nicolas Gaitan on their radar for some time now. With Anderson seemingly on the way out, Gaitan would make for a very smart addition to the squad.
The Argentine International usually plays on the left-side of the midfield, using his pace and trickery to move up the pitch, bamboozle defenders and get in behind. His dribbling ability, close control and movement are tough to beat. Best of all, he’s more than capable of crafting a neat and effective cross. In other words, he certainly wouldn’t look out of place at Old Trafford.
This season he’s scored 4 goals and picked up 11 assists in 37 appearances. This isn’t bad, but the 25-year-old may feel he has more to offer. After taking part in and losing the Europa League final (to Chelsea), Gaitan may also feel that the time’s right to move to somewhere, where he’s more capable of winning silverware.
Still, he’s earned a £25m price-tag and Bayer Leverkusen are thought to be interested in signing him. If David Moyes is tempted, he will likely face staunch competition for the player’s signature.
But he’d be worth it. Gaitan is a real talent and he’d be a massive step up on the likes of Anderson. Go get him David!
What’s your take? Should Manchester United be in the market for Nicolas Gaitan?

mr david go get him
I wil like him
Yeah!
manchester utd should get him (giatan) and one other central midfielder plz in order 2 settle down dis season
No! James is a better player, younger, with more room for improvement, most complete, in another sense, Fellaini to take the place of Scholes or Anderson, is the most complete player because he can play either 6 or 8, since Gaitán shows many difficulties both in defensive processes either in moments of decision, then score a few goals, since little shot, and when it does, fails too, there have so few goals! Marchisio also would be an optimal choice, and the return of Cristiano Ronaldo, a dream for all the reds! Gaitán needs more time to make the leap, experience more, grow more as a player, it’s still early!
If moyes really want to succeed at old traford he should go get Gaitan.
It will be a gud addition
