Why is nobody asking more questions of Ranger’s Sir David Murray?

|

Soccer - Rangers press conference - Murray ParkThe silence of the succulent lamb. It is now over a year since Rangers went into administration. In that year a lot has happened to the club both on and off the pitch. As the anniversary came around it seemed like everyone had an opinion on the Rangers story. Bloggers, journalists, radio pundits all had their say. Some reflective, some critical and some still in denial, calling Rangers a new club and ignoring the fact that they won the First Tier Tax case, which was the basis of all Rangers troubles.

Yet through all the news stories, TV reports and even an interview with the man who bought Rangers for a pound; Craig Whyte stating that he had done nothing wrong and that he sleeps at night, there has been one man who has been missing. No sound bites. No interviews. Only silence. Yes, Sir David Murray. From Scotland’s most successful business entrepreneur to a man who now lives in the shadows. A man that now seems to be afraid of the light. One year down the road from the administration it would have been good to have heard from the former owner of the club and the man most supporters blame for Rangers collapse. Yet once again we get the famous Murray dignified silence.

The question that most Rangers fans are asking, is why there has been no backlash from the Murray camp. Before the verdict of not guilty, Murray and Rangers were fair game for every hater of the club on the planet. Rangers were the greatest sporting cheats of all time, financial dopers and the cause of sectarianism in Scotland.

Surely with the FTT verdict, it should have been payback time. But what do we get? The same old dignified silence that caused so much trouble to the club. Why has the former owner not turned hunter on those who tried to put the club out of existence? Only Sir David Murray can answer these questions. The former captain of industry who claimed he was duped by Craig Whyte now appears toothless, as those with an agenda against the club rally for another assault on Rangers. Perhaps Sir David thinks that it shows character to remain silent, or some sort of wisdom, to not lash out at your enemies but remain stoic.

For all the claims of nine in a row and big money signings, it was under Murray’s reign that Rangers lost their power. He left the club defenseless against its critics and even now one year down the road more questions than answers surround the fall of Rangers and Sir David Murray’s role in it.

Rangers and Scotland need someone to dig for the facts behind the deal that saw Craig Whyte get control of Rangers. Murray is not alone in all of this. There are serious questions to be asked of Lloyd’s Banking Group, HMRC, Duff and Phelps, the SFA and SPL. The truth of the Rangers story must one day be told.

Fortunately for Sir David Murray in today’s modern Scotland no one is asking for the truth, and you get the feeling that is exactly how Sir David Murray wants it to be.

SERIOUSLY DO YOU NOT THINK WE SHOULD MOVE ON

Where Rangers are concerned, you will NEVER GET THE TRUTH!

according to the courts and now Lord Nimmo, SDM broke no scottish or spl law.
therefore, clearly, since there is no pertinence either in terms of law or topical interest concerning SDM your question reeks of the desperate to find absolutely anything – any shred of the irrelevant in an effort to cast dispersions on Rangers.
why don’t you ask a more topical question on a more pertinent issue? eg considering the newspapers are full of headlines of the disgusting papal knight savile, the disgusting cardinal mahoney, the sex scandal of cardianl obrien, and the cover up of sexual abuse at Penn state.
the much more topical question would be – “why is no one asking more questions of celtic fc regarding their complicity in the sexual abuse of young boys, and why did the sfa and the scottish legal system neglect their responsibility of making celtic accountable and, like Penn state, remove all honours achieved during those disgusting years”.

oh, you don’t want to ask such a topical question because of the scandal for your team and removal of titels during the no nine in a row years …i see..
    lol
