Though the January transfer window slammed shut not so long ago, Arsenal are already getting linked to a whole roster of summer transfer targets.
This must surely be an offset of the general dissatisfaction that is hanging over the heads of Arsenal fans at the moment.
Their club are struggling in the Premier League and at this stage a top four finish is by no means to be taken for granted. Bradford City sent the Gunners crashing out of the Capital One Cup. Arsenal are underdogs against Bayern Munich and can’t really expect to compete for the Champions League this season.
The best chance of silverware this season comes in the FA Cup, but even the most optimistic Arsenal fan must doubt their chances.
So it’s little wonder that there’s still a lot of transfer tattle getting spread by the papers throughout the fans. The Summer will offer Arsene Wenger yet another chance to build a squad that is genuinely competitive and it can’t come soon enough for Arsenal.
But who can the Gunners bring in to give them that quality that they are missing? The key area that needs to be assessed this summer is surely the striking position.
Whilst Olivier Giroud is chipping in with the goals and the assists this season, you get the feeling that the Gunners need somebody with some genuine technical ability. Someone who can beat his man, work space and cause havoc amongst opposition defenses.
Out of the players who have been linked to Arsenal, the man who best typifies this approach is surely Fiorentina’s Stevan Jovetic.
According to The Mirror, Arsenal have been watching the Montenegrin and are impressed with what they’ve seen. The same source also claims that Arsene Wenger has the cash to spend to bring players of Jovetic’s quality to the Emirates.
Jovetic would be perfect for Arsenal. Whilst he scores a fair amount of goals, he generally plays behind the main striker, feeding the ball into dangerous areas and using his tricky feet to draw players in and create areas to run into. He’s the kind of player who you feel would work well with Giroud and would help to give the Gunners a little more depth upfront.
This summer is likely to see a lot of action from Arsenal in the transfer market. I just hope that Jovetic is one of the players on Arsene Wenger’s list.

Arsenal should let go of the deadwood. Squillaci and Arshavin will be leaving. Arsenal should sell Chamakh, Bendtner, Denilson, Santos, Djourou, and even Rosicky. I think he is now past his prime, although he still remains one of my favorite midfielder. Arsenal should look to promote from within first, with the likes of Afobe, Miyachi, Eisfeld and Miquel coming into the side. They should then buy some real quality. Jovetic must be a priority, with some young but quality defender and a right winger as well.
Guyz if this guy is skilled then why not lets get him as early as possible before soe vultures target on him…we should stop this tendency of promising and then not fulfilling…why is Arsene Wenger playing Ramsey always…pliz we need to get experienced players like David Villa to come play for us…have you ever seen him play..he is strong in the ball and can produce surprises always….we should stop this youth policy when it comes to strikers as we need someone who z been there…even there is this young player from AC Milan who plays behind strikers called Bojav…this boy can play good football…he can fit in wellinto our system….pliz Wenger try yo level best….we need that old Arsenal we used to watch and be able to tell people about it…not this kind of a thing…right now we are number 5…instead of being number 1 or 2…..

Wenger should pls make a serious bid for Jovetic before the transfer window open…… He should also buy a natural defensive midfielder like Diame or Capoue or promote Coquelin into d squad
